One of the most exciting and innovative curricula in the country has been developed by a senior staff taskforce at the academy.

Key points are:

• Key Stage 3 has been condensed to Years 7 and 8.
• GCSE studies in all subjects will start in Year 9.
• In Year 11, students will start on A-S levels or receive a full programme of support to improve GCSE results.
• A system of complementary qualifications will be offered. Students passing GCSE maths will be offered statistics. Successful science students will be offered astronomy.
• Core ICT GCSEs are being introduced for all students.
• Personal Social Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) has been re-organised to lead to an important vocational qualification.

An outstanding Raising Achievement expert has been appointed to head the Raising Achievement team.
