Healthy Eating

The Academy is one of 30 secondary schools across Britain which are trialling the use of vending machines for the sale of Heart Healthy snacks and drinks.

The scheme is being run by the British Heart Foundation.

The School Council was actively involved in the initial market research to choose suitable items for the machines.

A small group of students worked after school with art and design and technology teachers to design Victory branding for the machines.

The popularity of the machines is evident from the first month’s sales figures with students encouraged to continue to suggest new lines.

The project will form the basis of coursework for students in food technology and business studies.
