A Message From The Principal

Posted: 20.06.17

Dear Parents and Carers

Firstly, I would like to thank our students for continuing to work hard and behave well during this recent bout of hot weather. I write today with clarification regarding uniform rules in summer weather. Thank you for understanding the academy’s commitment to high standards.

At Victory, students must have their blazers with them every day. If the weather is hot, please ensure they have plenty to drink with them or an appropriate drinks bottle so they can easily refill it during the day with water/squash which are available to students. Students are allowed to wear short-sleeved white shirts if they are more comfortable.

Our students are expected to wear their blazers and when they arrive at lessons, they ask the teacher’s permission to remove them. Staff are encouraged to remind children to remove their blazers if the weather is hot and will usually advise them to remove their blazers as soon as they get to the lesson.

If we experience a ‘heat-wave’, the Senior Leadership Team will announce a ‘blazers off’ day when students will not be required to wear their blazers at all during that day.

Today is much cooler, but on Thursday the forecast is for very warm weather again.

Friday is our annual academy Sports Day, so please could I take this opportunity to remind you to ensure that your children put sun protection on before they come to school, that they bring spare sun cream with them, that they bring a hat/cap where possible and understand the importance of drinking regularly. We will be having a visit from an ice-cream van, so if children wish to bring extra money to purchase ice-creams, they may. Our lovely team of kitchen staff will also be operating a BBQ for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you for your support.
