Teaching School Application Consultation
Dear Parents and Carers,
I write to offer you some very exciting news – we are in the process of applying to lead a Teaching School Alliance at Ormiston Victory Academy.
This means that in partnership with the University of East Anglia, we would be able to lead the training of teachers in the area and help to find them an appropriate placement. We also
want to contribute to encouraging teachers who are new to the profession to stay and teach for the entirety of their careers as the UK is currently losing too many after just a few years. It is so important for the children to experience consistency in their learning journeys.
A local independent school is also discussing working with us in helping to provide outstanding opportunities for teachers and staff – trainee teachers would be able to experience working in both state and independent schools. The Brilliant Club, who some of you are familiar with, have also asked to join us in providing training for their mentors, especially in the fields of mathematics and physics. We feel strongly that the young people at Ormiston Victory would benefit tremendously from this wonderful affiliation.
We are also delighted to be working with Queen’s Hill Primary School on this partnership, therein hoping to also encourage primary teachers into the profession and helping all
teachers in the area access the best training to further their own skills.
We need to submit our application by the start of next week, so please wish us well. We are unlikely to know the outcome until well into 2018, so I will keep you updated as I know more.
If you would like to know more about our application, please come along and see me on Monday, 4th December, at 3pm to raise any queries you have, or find out how you could
help. Alternatively, email my PA, Nicole, on email@example.com and she will pass on your questions.
With all good wishes, as ever,
Principal, Ormiston Victory Academy
