A-Level Results

A-level(1) Results

We are tremendously proud of the excellent results achieved by our students at Lord Nelson Sixth Form. The summary below provides an overview of these.

Explanatory Notes:

(1)This includes both academic and vocational qualifications.

(2)We compare to all schools nationally; including fee paying.

*This denotes the figure is as high as it can be given the combination of courses followed: Not all students take three straight A-levels, they may do a combination of A-level, AS-level and vocational courses, therefore not all students are eligible for this measure.

– Figures in the first column show divisors for calculations. For example, there were 68 students in this Year 13 cohort.

– All measures here are for attainment only; they do not take into account students starting points. Figures for progress are published by the DfE later in the academic year.

We are expecting these figures to show that our pure A-level students’ progress is in line with those nationally and for vocational results, significantly above national.

The average point score per entry was above the national figure.

Individual Successes and Destinations:

More important than overall academy results are the personal stories of achievement and future destinations for each individual student. We are proud for all of our students, but have highlighted a few below which represent the breadth of successes at the academy.

At the end of Summer 2016, 99% of our sixth form students went onto further education, employment or training.

A further breakdown is offered below:

• 39% went to University
• 33% went onto Employment
• 7% went onto Apprenticeships
• 13% went onto Further Studies
• 6% are working to complete a Gap Year before University
