    Our big East Anglia Fruit-full Schools event went well yesterday – thanks to the weather, as well.  We had 10 students (Years 10 and 8) from  Reepham High School and Ken Stimpson High School near Peterborough, and six of our Garden Club members who are also part of the Fruitfull Schools group – James Pegg, Edward Tringham, Adam Wood, Darren Zelos-Brown, Chelsea Savory and Madison Mussett.  Mrs Williamson had the chance to network with their outdoor learning staff, sharing ideas etc.  We toured...

  • Save a Tonne

    The Academy is working with the government-funded Save A Tonne campaign as a lead school in west Norwich. The campaign is aimed at reducing our carbon footprint. It will raise awareness in households about the benefits of insulating their home. Offer households free advice on services and grants for energy saving. Advice for community buildings.   • Victory Orchard

    Work is about to start on the Victory Orchard, sited next to our organic Victory Allotment. It will be planted with traditional East Anglian fruit trees, mainly of Norfolk origin, including Costessey’s own varieties, New Costessey Seedling and Herbert Eastoe. The theme will be a sundial, with trees planted in the hourly positions.     Our Victory Bees are getting ready for their Premier Performance on Saturday, April 21, when they will be the focus of a Bee Aware community outreach day.   • Herb Garden

    Thanks to a grant from B&Q we are building a Herb Garden with herbs for use by our Food Technology and Beauty students as well as Horatio’s. We shall be planting Basil, Curly leaved parsley, Coriander,  Mint – 2 varieties,  Thyme – several varieties – different scent and leaf colour,  Oregano – three different leaf colour,  Sage  - purple, golden and tricolour, Chives, Bronze fennel.  In the bed nearest the Beauty Salon we will plant lavender and rosemary.
