Attendance

Full attendance is critical if you are to make the best use of your opportunities. Research shows that missing lessons has a seriously detrimental effect on your achievements.

Less than 90% attendance is enough to drop an attainment level/GCSE grade.

All students have their attendance monitored rigorously and where necessary we invite parents/carers in to offer support and discuss any issues.

Please support the Academy by sending your child in whenever possible.

Reporting a student absent

If your child is absent, due to illness or an appointment, it is important that you contact us to inform us as soon as possible.

You may email Louise Nash, Attendance Officer L.Nash@ormistonvictoryacademy.co.uk or contact the Academy by phone to report an absence (direct dial 01603 734156).

If a student has not registered in the morning a text message will be sent to parents/carers. Parents/carers can reply to this message or alternatively contact the above number and leave a message.

For those parents who have been asked to provide medical evidence, please click here to download a copy of the form. Forms are also available from Student Services.

Application for leave of absence from school during term time

If you are planning a holiday during term time, please be aware that is the Academy’s policy not to authorise these unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Further information is available on the leave of absence form, please ensure you read the government guidelines and sign the form. Please click here to download a leave of absence form. These are also available from Student Services.
